Master the Art of Waking Up Early

Uncover the secrets to easing into mornings, even during the challenging Fall and Winter seasons, when motivation is at its lowest.

Have you ever wanted to become a morning workout person but are overwhelmed by how to start? Are you a chronic snooze button person? Or does the cold weather make it hard for you to leave the comfort of your warm bed?

As the temperatures start to drop and the fall season sets in, it is common for many people to experience a dip in motivation when it comes to exercise and fitness. However, there are several strategies you can implement to combat this lack of motivation.

Firstly, try setting specific and achievable goals for yourself. Whether it's a certain number of workouts per week or a new personal record, having something concrete to work towards can reignite your drive. A new goal will give you some motivation back.

Secondly, vary your routine and make it fun. Regardless of the season, I always suggest adding variety! Doing the same workouts every week can get very boring, so changing up exercises every 4-6 weeks is also a great idea and what I do in all of my client’s programing. And I also like to encourage trying something new. Consider trying new workouts or outdoor activities that are unique to the fall season, such as hiking, biking, or even a backyard workout with a friend.

Additionally, surround yourself with like-minded individuals who can offer support and accountability. Joining a fitness class or finding a workout buddy can make the journey more enjoyable and help you stay on track.

Lastly, remember the importance of self-care and rest. As the colder weather sets in, take time to prioritize your overall well-being by incorporating relaxation techniques, proper sleep, and nourishing foods into your routine. By implementing these strategies, you can combat the lack of motivation that often accompanies the drop in temperatures during fall.
